About Me

I’m David and I’ve been making things with my hands for as long as I can remember. For a long time I was designing small electronics projects for my own personal interest. However,  in high school I became interested in the idea of selling products that I could make. I started out selling cutting boards, hand-turned rolling pins, ice-cream scoops, coasters, bowls, and all kinds of wooden items. After about a year, the shop I was working in started to be remodeled so I had to switch gears into making something else…

Contracting

My work can be separated into two types of projects:

Outdoor Projects

Decks, Fences, Awnings, Landscaping & Furniture

I work with all kinds of materials, making many different outdoor structures, these are just what made the list. My favorite jobs have been designing and building decks. I use a CAD modeling software to design almost all of my projects, and I do this for a few reasons:

  • One is that by using CAD I can go back and forth with a client before starting and we can get a clear rendering of the final product.
  • This also saves me time and avoids complications in the middle of a job because we have worked out almost every detail in the CAD model.
Indoor Projects

Kitchen Cabinets, Built-ins, Drywall, Framing, Flooring, Trim

I would divide my indoor work into two more categories: Fine woodworking & general remodeling. Fine woodworking includes making closet built-ins, bookshelves, kitchen cabinets & islands, desks, and other furniture.

Besides finished work, I am experienced with most residential construction, including flooring installation, framing, concrete patching, drywall installation and patching, mud work, crown/shoe/baseboard trim installation, and a lot more that’s detailed in the contracting FAQ’s page.
